Apple and Samsung will meet in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit court next month as Apple steps up its bid to have a number of Samsung devices banned in the United States.

The Cupertino company is hoping to reverse the court’s decision not to remove then handsets from sale when they were found guilty of infringing Apple patents last August.

The two consumer technology giants will appear on Friday, August 9, almost a year after the original decision was made, Computerworld reports. The court will hear 15 minutes of oral arguments from each of their attorneys before deciding whether the ruling should change.

This time last year, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Jose found Samsung guilty of copying the iPhone’s design and software features in 26 of its smartphones and tablets. Apple was awarded $1.05 billion in damages, but Samsung was allowed to continue selling the guilty products.

“To the limited extent that Apple has been able to show that any of its harms were caused by Samsung’s illegal conduct (in this case, only trade dress dilution), Apple has not established that the equities support an injunction,” said Judge Lucy Koh last December.

Apple was quick to appeal that, and the company will finally get a chance to have its say in just over three week’s time.
