Samsung’s Galaxy Blade Edge is a smartphone that doubles as a meat cleaver
You know when you’re away from the kitchen and you really need to chop up some meat, but all you have with you is your phone? We’ve all been there, which is why Samsung is launching Galaxy Blade Edge, a brand new smartphone that doubles as a meat cleaver.
Hot on the heels of glowing reviews for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Samsung is really shaking up the smartphone industry with something entirely different. Blade Edge isn’t just a high-end phone, but also a ridiculously big knife that promises to cut up to 50% faster than traditional blades.
Blade Edge is water- and fire-resistant, with a diamond-edge blade, and a patented ceramic body that makes it tougher than stainless steel but lighter than plastic. It also boasts a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, and Samsung’s latest Knox security with fingerprint recognition.
What makes the Blade Edge really special is its thermometer stylus, which allows you to check the temperature of your meat before you chop it up. But be careful about what kind of meat you’re chopping; the handset’s human blood sensor will automatically call the authorities if it suspects you might be hacking up another person.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed how much the Blade Edge will cost yet, or when it will be available, but it does promise custom handles and other accessories to go along with it.
And if you haven’t already worked it out, this is, of course, an excellent April Fools’ Day joke. Samsung may have made some whacky phones in the past, but this is definitely not real.
