20 Million Samsung Galaxy S III Devices Sold In First 100 Days
Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S III has become their most successful smartphone, surpassing 20 million units sold in just 100 days. I can’t say I’m surprised, it’s an excellent device. Samsung did a brilliant job (minus TouchWiz) and makes it quite obvious as to why they are the leading manufacturer of Android devices.
I fully expect Samsung to continue having success on the Android front and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them make another Nexus device. It’s no coincidence that the only manufacturer pushing out Nexus smartphones is also leading in market share, along with profit. Let that be a wake up call to all you other OEMs: start making vanilla Android devices!
Whether or not vanilla Android devices sell isn’t the point, it’s the respect earned from having a Nexus device that matters. HTC lost that after the Nexus One and now look at them.
Kudos Samsung, keep up the good work.
