Google Now Selling Nexus 4 In U.K. Again, But You’ll Be Waiting Up To 6 Weeks For Delivery
Google began selling its new Nexus 4 through the U.K. Google Play Store on Tuesday night, much to the delight of Android users who are itching to get hold of the company’s latest smartphone. The only problem is, there’s a 5-6 week shipping delay. That means your hopes of bagging the handset this side of Christmas are gone.
When the Nexus 4 initially returned to Google Play, there was a 1-2 week shipping delay, TechRadar reports. But it didn’t take long for it to change to 4-5 weeks, and then again to 5-6 weeks.
It’s hardly surprising, given the fact that the handset sold out within less than an hour when it landed on Google Play for the first time last month — and when you consider it starts at just £239 (approx. $385), which is significantly cheaper than the latest flagship handsets from rival manufacturers.
If you don’t want to endure the six-week wait, you could attempt to get the Nexus 4 from a carrier or third-party retailer. O2 is currently selling the handset in the U.K., and Three will also begin offering it later this month. The only caveat with that is you’ll need to sign up to a new contract.
