Sony Xperia Z Spotted With T-Mobile Branding
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Sony smartphone on T-Mobile USA, but it appears the two companies are joining forces for Sony’s latest flagship. An Xperia Z has been leaked with T-Mobile branding on its back, suggesting a big announcement could be on its way.
The image was obtained by TmoNews, who has confirmed with three separate sources that T-Mobile is testing the Xperia Z. The Xperia ZL first hit U.S. shores, and it has the bands compatible with T-Mobile’s LTE network. But the carrier looks to be getting the international version instead, which is water resistant.
Sony Xperia Z Specifications
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
- 5-inch 1920×1080 TFT display
- 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 13-megapixel rear-facing camera
- 2-megapixel front-facing camera
- NFC
- 4G LTE
There’s no guarantee the Xperia Z will come to T-Mobile. The tests could go horribly wrong, or T-Mobile may just decide not to carry it. But given that T-Mobile is already branding the device, it looks very promising.
As soon as we hear anything official, we’ll let you know.
