AT&T has announced that it will launch the new Galaxy S4 Active on June 21, priced at $199. You can pre-order the waterproof device starting tomorrow, June 14.

The Galaxy S4 Active is one of four Galaxy S4 variants now available from Samsung — alongside the original Galaxy S4, the Galaxy S4 Mini, and the recently announced Galaxy S4 Zoom — and some would say it’s the best of the bunch, boasting dust and water resistance, and a more resilient form factor.

“It’s truly summer-proof,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president of Devices and Developer Services at AT&T. “With its quad-core processor and access to the nation’s largest 4G network and fastest 4G LTE network you can stay connected nearly anywhere life takes you.”

The Galaxy S4 Active offers a 1.9GHz quad-core processor, a 5-inch 1080p display with 443 pixels-per-inch, and a 2,600mAh battery. Its rear-facing camera has been downgraded a little — in comparison with the Galaxy S4’s — to an 8-megapixel shooter.

It comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed, with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface over the top. That means it’s also kitted out with a suite of Samsung apps and features, including S Travel, S Translator, Glove Touch, S Health, and the Galaxy camera with Sound & Shot, Drama Shot, and more.
