LG has sent out another invitation to its August 7 event in New York, teasing a device identified as the LG G2, presenting its revolutionary new rear buttons. This invitation is very similar to the one we saw 2 weeks ago, however, now we have confirmation that the company will be unveiling its much-anticipated G2 smartphone.

We do not know much about the handset itself, but from what we can gather the device is suspected to pack a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and possibly a whopping 3GB of RAM. LG has confirmed that the device will contain a Snapdragon 800 processor, but the rest of the alleged specifications are pure speculation.

The rear buttons first emerged in a series of leaked presentation slides, and now we have solid evidence that the device will indeed feature these artificial buttons powered by a series of capacitive sensors.

In addition, it has come to light that the device has a polished glass back, similar to what we’ve seen on the Nexus 4, Optimus G and Sony’s Xperia Z.

LG has been teasing the G2 for months now, which makes us wonder what else the electronics giant will have to announce on August 7, aside from the usual pricing and availability information.
