Google Announces Android 4.3, Available From Today
Google just announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at an even in San Francisco. The upgrade brings support for multiple user accounts with restricted profiles, Bluetooth low energy technology, and other new features.
With restricted user profiles for tablets, Android 4.3 lets you create separate accounts with their own parental controls and preferences for other members of your family. So you can restrict access to certain apps, games, and other content for your youngest child, while providing more flexibility for your eldest.
In addition to this, Android 4.3 finally supports Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy technology, and OpenGL ES 3.0, which promises a much-improved gaming experience.
Android 4.3 is very much an incremental Jelly Bean update, with most of its improvements happening under the hood.
Android 4.3 will be pre-installed on the new Nexus 7, and Google will be rolling it out over-the-air to the original Nexus 7, the Nexus 4, the Nexus 10, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus from today.
