Sprint Confirms Its 4G LTE Unlimited Plans For The LG G2
Yesterday, LG unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the G2, and also announced that it will be coming to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and all key U.S. carriers. Today Sprint has made an official announcement offering the G2 on its 4G LTE unlimited plans later this year, but unfortunately the carrier did not provide us with any pricing or availability information.
The G2 is more than likely going to be the first handset to operate on all three of Sprint’s LTE networks in the 800MHz, 1900MHz and 2.5GHz bands. No other carriers in the U.S. are currently operating on these bands, so Sprint could be assuring LG’s flagship device super fast internet speeds with no interruptions.
In addition, Sprint is establishing two different LTE technologies over the three bands: frequency division-LTE and time division-LTE. Frequency division is currently used by all other U.S. carriers, whereas time division is an exclusive section of LTE that is shared between SoftBank and a variety of other Asian and Middle Eastern operators.
Over the years, we have teamed up with LG to bring top of the line devices to our customers. I am thrilled to see our relationship grow as we open new doors together by bringing LG G2 with the benefit of Sprint’s unlimited 4G LTE plans to our lineup. The new Sprint Unlimited Guarantee, available with an Unlimited, My Way or My All-in plan, is the perfect match for LG G2 because our customers can enjoy the powerful camera, huge screen, fast LTE speeds and other innovative features while on the Sprint network without worrying about costly overages or sharing data. While other wireless providers are moving away from unlimited service, the Sprint Unlimited Guarantee allows our customers to lock-in unlimited talk, text and data not for just the next two years, but for the life of the line of service. – Commented Fared Adib, Sprint’s Product Chief.
The LG G2 is a high-end Android smartphone, featuring a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.
If you like the sound of the G2 and fancy picking one up on Sprint’s unlimited plans, be sure to check back as we’ll let you know when the pre-order page is up and running.
