Samsung has done a pretty impressive job of keeping the Galaxy Note III under wraps ahead of its September 4 unveiling, but with just over a week to go until the big day, the handset’s new display has appeared in a series of high quality images from a “trusted source.”

“The photos have been given to us by a trusted source in China who has had access to device parts in the past,” writes Sonny Dickson, who has been behind most of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C leaks in recent months. We have no reason not to believe these images are genuine, then.

As expected, the Galaxy Note III looks very similar to the Galaxy S4, only noticeably bigger. It also appears to have slimmer bezels down the sides of its display, and slightly sharper edges — whereas the Galaxy S4’s are more rounded.

Recent reports have claimed the Galaxy Note III will have a 5.68-inch display, which is 0.68 inches bigger than the Galaxy Note II’s display. The biggest difference will likely be in resolution, however, with the newer model expected to get a full 1080p panel like the Galaxy S4 and other high-end smartphones.

Other rumored specifications include an eight-core Exynos 5 processor for certain markets, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 3,200mAh battery. The handset is also expected to ship with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system pre-installed.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note III on September 4 — two days before IFA 2013 — at an Unpacked event in Berlin.
