Limited Edition Hello Kitty HTC Butterfly S Pictured Ahead Of Launch
A limited edition Hello Kitty HTC Butterfly S has been pictured ahead of its official debut.
The device is largely identical to the original Butterfly S — both inside and out — but it has a large Hello Kitty head printed on its back, and a pink Hello Kitty wallpaper set as default. The device is also expected to come pre-loaded with other Kitty content.
We first found out about this device earlier this week when HTC began issuing invites to Taiwanese press for the handset’s launch event. But like most HTC devices, it has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling. There are no pictures of the handset itself (yet), but we can clearly see what it’s going to look like in the printed ad above.
We also know what’s going to be inside it, of course, because it’ll be the same as the original Butterfly S, which made its debut just last month. So in addition to a 5-inch 1080p display with 441 pixels-per-inch, it’ll also have a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot.
The Butterfly S also boasts the latest HTC features, like a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera, the Sense 5 user interface, Beats Audio technology, and dual front-facing BoomSound speakers.
The limited edition Hello Kitty version will be announced on September 2, and it’s likely to remain exclusive to Asian markets — at least initially. If it does make its way west, though, we’ll be sure to update you.
