Samsung Galaxy Gear To Cost £299 ($469) In The U.K.
Samsung has now priced its new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear for the United Kingdom, and you might be surprised to see how much they’ll sell for without a contract. The Galaxy Note 3 will cost you £649 ($1,018), which isn’t exactly overly excessive for a high-end smartphone these days — but the Galaxy Gear will cost a whopping £299 ($469).
£299 for a clever wristwatch.
The prices were published on Samsung’s website and first spotted by SamMobile. We never expected these devices to be affordable — they are premium devices, after all — but we weren’t expecting the Galaxy Gear to be priced quite so high.
It’s $299 in the U.S., which roughly translates to £190. Import costs and taxes then have to be added to that, of course, but even so, an extra £109 is quite a jump. You can save yourself £100 ($157) by buying both the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear together, however, which will see you pay £848 ($1,330) in total.
Samsung is also offering another £50 off when you trade in your old phone, but the deal is only available to the first 500 customers who pre-order the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear from the Samsung Experience Store inside the Westfield shopping center in Stratford, London.
Both devices will be available on September 25.
