Google Pushing Out OTA Update For Google Play Edition Samsung Galaxy S4
Google has started rolling out an over-the-air update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition. This upgrade brings the handset up to speed with current Google Play Edition HTC One and Nexus devices running build JWR66Y. Although it does not bring any major software improvements, it’s still quite an important stability update that we would advise all users to download.
Besides the bump up to build JWR66Y.H1, it also brings a few changes to the kernel source code, which are aimed at improving the stability of the stock Android operating system.
If you own a Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 and have not yet received the OTA update, you can head into “Settings,” then “About Device,” and select “Check for Updates” to manually scan for the upgrade.
