Vodafone U.K. has today announced that its new 4G LTE network will be available in Liverpool, Glasgow, and Manchester by the end of this month. It’s been just seven weeks since the service took off, and Vodafone says that more than 100,000 people have already signed up to a new 4G plan.

After making its debut in London at the end of August, Vodafone 4G went live in Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham, and Sheffield in September. On October 17, it will make its way to Liverpool, before reaching Glasgow on October 24. It will then be available in Manchester “shortly afterwards,” Vodafone says.

By the end of 2015, the carrier hopes to bring 4G LTE to 98% of the U.K. population. But even with support for just nine cities, the service has already been labeled a success.

“We’re delighted to report that, even at this early stage, more than 100,000 people have signed up to our Red 4G-ready plans, giving them access to stacks of great entertainment and our burgeoning ultrafast 4G network,” Vodafone said in its press release today.

Vodafone currently stocks a growing range of 4G-ready smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S4, its predecessor, the Galaxy S III, and the Galaxy Note 3; the HTC One and HTC One mini; the Sony Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z Ultra; and Apple’s new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.
