Sony Brings Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra & SmartWatch 2 To The U.S.
Sony has today launched the Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z Ultra, and the SmartWatch 2 in the United States as it looks to step up its pursuit of Samsung. All three devices can be purchased directly from Sony’s online store, from select Sony retail stores throughout the U.S., and from some third-party electronics retailers.
The Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z Ultra are Sony’s latest flagship smartphones. The former made its debut in Japan and Europe last month, while the latter has been on sale there since June. Both devices are dust- and water-resistant — like the original Xperia Z — and they’re available in black, white, or purple.

As for the SmartWatch 2, that was announced just after the Xperia Z Ultra back in June. It boasts a number of improvements over its predecessor, including a larger 1.6-inch “transflective” display, NFC connectivity, and a bigger battery that promises three to four days of use in between charges. It’s also waterproof with IP57 certification.
The Xperia Z1 will cost $669.99 in the U.S., while the Xperia Z Ultra will cost either $649.99 or $679.99 — depending on whether you want HSPA+ or LTE connectivity. The SmartWatch 2 is priced at $199.95.
