Official Chromecast Android App Now Available Internationally
Two weeks ago, Amazon U.S. officially announced that it has started shipping Google’s latest handset-to-TV dongle, the Chromecast, to the U.K. and Australia, and now reports are flying in suggesting that the team at Mountain View have made the official Chromecast for Android app available to download internationally.
At this precise moment in time the Chromecast dongle itself remains to be a U.S. only product from Google’s prospective, so people in the U.K. and Australia wishing to get their hands on a unit will be forced to import the device from the U.S. and be required to pay £22.59 or A$38.64 respectively – prior to shipping and taxes.
Admittedly, that’s obviously a little more than you’ll pay when the Chromecast officially goes on sale in the U.K. and Australia via the Google Play Store, but in comparison to the extraordinary prices sellers are currently charging on eBay, it’s certainly not too bad.
If you own a Chromecast and have not previously been able to download the official companion app, click the source link below to download it from Google Play now that all the regional restrictions have finally been lifted.
