Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Coming To The U.S. Next Month
Samsung has today announced that the Galaxy S4 mini will go on sale in the U.S. next month. The device will be available on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular in black mist and white frost, but its price tag is yet to be confirmed. The Galaxy S4 mini is the flagship Galaxy S4’s smaller sibling, measuring just 4.9 x 2.4 inches. It boasts a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a 960×540 resolution, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. It also boasts a number of the Galaxy S4’s software features, such as WatchON, S Translator, S Travel, and Sound & Shot.
“Samsung continues to provide a wide range of products to fit consumers’ needs,” said Gregory Lee, president of Samsung Mobile. “The Galaxy S 4 mini continues that commitment by bringing the paramount features of our flagship Galaxy S 4 smartphone to a smaller, more compact form factor.”
The Galaxy S4 mini will launch with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but Samsung promises that it will be updated “soon after launch” to be compatible with the Galaxy Gear. Presumably, that update will also bring the latest Android 4.3 release.
We don’t have specific release dates just yet — those will depend on each operator — but we expect to hear more soon.
