T-Mobile U.S. is now accepting pre-orders for Google’s latest flagship smartphone, the Nexus 5, on its official website. As expected, the handset’s total pricing is pretty similar to other operators on the market, however, T-Mobile is the only carrier to offer the device with a $41.99 down payment, followed by 24 monthly payments of $17, which adds up to a rather hefty $449.

The Nexus 5 is arguably the most impressive native Android smartphone on the market, packing a gorgeous 4.95-inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2,300 mAh non-removable battery.

Furthermore, the Nexus 5 is the only handset on the market to run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, which brings a completely redesigned user interface, SMS message integration in Hangouts, Google Now on the home screen, a swanky new camera application and lots more.

If you choose to pre-order the Nexus 5 from T-Mobile you will only be able to get your hands on the 16GB model, and $449 is a fair bit to pay for a “budget-friendly” smartphone with that little storage. That’s why we’d urge you to consider purchasing the handset from Google, for the one-off fee of $349, if at all possible.

The handset is expected to leave T-Mobile’s warehouses on Thursday, November 14, so if you pre-order before then, with a bit of luck you’ll have it in your hands on Saturday, November 16.
