Moto X Owners On AT&T Now Receiving Android 4.4 KitKat
AT&T began its Android 4.4 KitKat soak test for the Moto X last week, and we had a feeling it wouldn’t be long before it was making the software available to the public — particularly after Verizon became the first to roll it out to its own customers.
So it wasn’t too much of a surprise to see Moto X customers with AT&T getting their KitKat updates over-the-air this weekend.
The Moto X has clearly been a big priority for Google, with the search giant making KitKat available on this device before it arrived on the Nexus 4 or the Google Play Edition HTC One and Galaxy S4. And of course, that’s great if you’re a Moto X customers.
While AT&T customers have had to wait longer than those on Verizon or T-Mobile, they’re still getting the update just over a month after it was unveiled alongside the new Nexus 5.
The update brings everything you expect from KitKat — except the new “Google Experience Launcher,” which is exclusive to the Nexus 5. However, you can manually install that yourself if you wish to after updating your device to KitKat.
