A judge in Seoul, South Korea has denied Samsung’s claim that Apple violated three of its patents, relating to short message services.

The decision, made Thursday, described two of Samsung’s patents as lacking “progressivity” — with the suggestion that they could easily be developed by others. The remaining patent was reportedly not used in the iPad as claimed.

Samsung sued Apple regarding the apparent patent violations back in March 2012. It was seeking 100 million won ($95,100) in damages, in addition to a ban on the sale of six different iPhone and iPad models, including the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 and iPad 2.

This latest ruling was another bad one for Samsung: which presently owes Apple $930 million in patent-related damages. Apple is also asking that Samsung pay $15.7 million of its legal fees.

“We are glad the Korean court joined others around the world in standing up for real innovation and rejecting Samsung’s ridiculous claims,” Apple Korea spokesperson Steve Park said.
