HTC is today pushing out a rather large unexpected over-the-air update to all its unlocked One Mini handsets currently located in Hungary. According to the changelog, the upgrade brings Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the latest version of Sense 5.5 to the device, together with a multitude of additional bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements, as well as a bunch of new soundtracks for the built-in Video Highlights feature.

The One Mini is essentially a scaled-down version of HTC’s flagship smartphone of 2013, the One, which packs a stunning 4.3-inch 720p HD display, a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (not expandable), an Adreno 305 GPU, a 4-megapixel “Ultrapixel” rear-facing camera and a measly 1,800 mAh non-removable battery.

The full changelog for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (firmware version 2.12.401.1) update, which weighs in at a whopping 630.55MB, can be seen below:

Once this update has been pushed out to all Hungarian unlocked One Mini’s, we assume that it will start its journey to other European countries, and make its way to the United States after AT&T, Sprint and Verizon make some minor changes to the firmware.

If you’re in Hungary and have not yet received the OTA update, you can head into “Settings,” then “About Device,” and select “Check for Updates” to manually scan for the upgrade. Alternatively, you can wait until your receive a push notification on your handset, prompting you to download and install the Android 4.3 update.
