KitKat Release Dates For Galaxy S4 & Galaxy Note 3 Spilled By French Carrier
Samsung’s Android 4.4 KitKat updates for the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 are expected to begin their rollout by early January or late February, according to French carrier SFR. They will be the first KitKat updates released by Samsung, but other smartphones and tablets from the South Korean company are likely to receive the same software throughout 2014.
It’s worth noting at this point that these release dates haven’t been confirmed by Samsung, and they could be specific to SFR devices — so those in other territories may see KitKat at different times. The date is also subject to change, but SFR promises to provide more specific timescales for the rollout nearer the time.
SFR was the first carrier to reveal Android 4.3 release dates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II — ahead of Samsung’s official announcement — and it got those dates spot-on.
We have no reason to believe that its KitKat schedule is inaccurate, then, but again, there is a possibility that something could delay the software’s release between now and the end of January.
