Samsung’s Entry-Level Galaxy Grand Neo Is Leaked
Samsung is planning to add a new smartphone to its Galaxy Grand family in the near future, and if these leaked images are anything to go by, it’ll be called the Galaxy Grand Neo. The entry-level device will be positioned somewhere between the original Galaxy Grand and the Galaxy Grand 2, and it borrows the Galaxy S4’s looks to grab attention.
The Galaxy Grand Neo will sport a 5-inch TFT display, but it will offer only an 800×480. That’s pretty disappointing in a world where 1080p smartphone displays are commonplace — particularly for a 5-inch panel — but this is an entry-level device.
Under its hood, there’s a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage that’s expandable via the microSD card slot. There’s also a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, HSPA+ connectivity, and a GPS.
The Galaxy Grand Neo looks a little like the Galaxy S4 — as you might expect — and it measures 143.7 x 77.1 x 9.6mm. It will launch with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, and it’ll cost €299 in Europe, which is around $407. Its release date is yet to be confirmed.
