LG Goes For Gold With New G2 Variant
LG is set to compete with the latest crop of gold smartphones from Apple, Samsung, HTC, and others with a new variant of the G2. The device hasn’t been announced officially yet, but it has already been listed by ePrice Taiwan, with the 32GB version selling for around $565.
Thanks to Apple’s new iPhone 5s, we’ve seen gold handsets from a whole host of manufacturers in recent months, and LG clearly doesn’t want its flagship G2 to be left out. It’s unclear when the new model will be available, but given that ePrice Taiwan already has it on sale, it should be too long before LG makes it official.
Apart from its new paint job, the gold G2 is identical to the original when it comes to both hardware and software. It features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and up to 32GB of storage. There’s also a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, and a 3,00mAh battery.
