Acer Announces Two New Mid-Range Smartphones Just In Time For MWC
Earlier today, Acer announced the addition of two new Android-powered mid-range handsets, the Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4, to its rapidly growing lineup of Liquid-branded devices. This announcement comes just days before the Mobile World Congress, which is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, on Monday, February 24, and, as you would expect, both devices will be on display for us to play around with.
The E3 is the most impressive of the two smartphones, packing a gorgeous 4.7-inch HD IPS display, a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera equipped with a specifically designed LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The device will ship running the latest build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean — which Acer claims will be updated to KitKat during Q2 of this year. In addition, the E3 comes with many nifty software features on board, including Snap Note, an app designed for presenting projects, and AcerFloat which allows users to have multiple windows floating at once.
The Z4 is basically a scaled-down, budget-friendly E3 variant, featuring a 4-inch HD IPS display, a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a ‘best in class’ 5-megapixel rear-facing camera supported by a very unique LED flash and a VGA front-facing shooter. The handset will also ship running Android 4.2.2 and is also expected to receive the KitKat upgrade later this year. The device will be available to purchase in two colorways — Essential White and Titanic Black.
Both phones will be available to purchase in Europe this April, with the E3 setting you back €199, and the Liquid Z4 going on sale with a very affordable €99 price tag. Obviously, we’ll find out more about the handsets at MWC later this month — so be sure to check back.
