AT&T Introduces Global 4G LTE Roaming In 12 Countries
America’s second largest carrier, AT&T, has just announced the addition of 12 new countries to its international 4G LTE roaming list. Users can now enjoy 4G LTE in these new destinations, although nothing was mentioned in terms of a price cut or discounts for roaming customers.
Users can now roam freely in regions of:
- Australia
- Antigua & Barbuda
- France
- Guam
- Hong Kong
- Japan
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Spain
- Switzerland
- Russia
If you plan on traveling to any of these countries with your 4G LTE capable AT&T smartphone, you can now enjoy the same speeds as you do back at home. But there’s a caveat here. While AT&T has merge with local carriers to give you 4G LTE data, its efficiency and speeds cannot be relied upon, especially in places like Guam and Antigua.
Also missing from AT&T’s announcement is a disclaimer that some countries might use network frequencies which are incompatible with the carrier’s 4G LTE smartphones. So if you’re keen on roaming with your AT&T SIM, make sure you get things clarified with the carrier first.
