Samsung Galaxy S5 Already On Its Way To Canada
Yesterday, Samsung unveiled its flagship smartphone of 2014, the Galaxy S5, and today we’ve received confirmation that the handset is en route to all the big cellular operators across Canada, including Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Koodoo, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and WIND Mobile.
Rogers, TELUS and Bell currently have a reserve system in place for potential customers to register their interest in the handset, so, when the S5 becomes available to purchase in April, these customers will have the opportunity to order the device a little while before those that didn’t.
The Galaxy S5 packs a 5.1-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a Qualcomm chipset powered by four 2.5GHz central processing units, 16/32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD), 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera equipped with optical image stabilization, IP67 dust- and water-resistance, a Finger Scanner and a beefy 2,800mAh user-removable battery.
In addition, the S5 will be Samsung’s first smartphone to ship running Android 4.4.2 KitKat straight out of the box skinned with the latest version of the South Korean company’s TouchWiz user interface — which it claims ‘is the easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks’.
There is no word on pricing as of yet, but be sure to check back as we’ll let you know the minute we get anymore information on the newly-announced Samsung Galaxy S5.
