Sony Xperia Z2 Will Not Come With A Permanent Screen Protector Installed

Sony fans, here is some good news for you. Sony has finally decided not to use its widely criticised anti-shatter film on the Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet, which it has been pre-installing on its Xperia devices since ages.

If you have ever owned or used a Sony device, you would know that the Japanese company pre-installs a permanent screen protector on them to prevent the front glass from breaking or scratching easily.

While these protectors — called anti-shatter film by Sony — were good from a safety standpoint, they would get scratched easily and gave the device a very plasticky feel. Worse, removing the protector was a very tedious process and on some devices, it meant saying adieu to the Sony logo as well.

Thankfully, with the Xperia Z2 and the Z2 Tablet, Sony decided to pay some heed to customer feedback and has given the anti-shatter film a boot. Hopefully, the company would continue this trend in its future devices as well.

With the Xperia Z2, Sony has managed to come up with a flagship that looks more compelling than the Galaxy S5. Now, only if the company could bring its handset to the US shores quickly, it would have a definite winner in its hand.
