The Sony Xperia Z2 was recently announced at the MWC event in Barcelona with a lot spoken about the smartphone’s design (more of the same), camera and the processor. But not a lot was discussed about the handset’s front facing stereo speakers. A new video has now popped up on YouTube which compares the speaker of the Xperia Z2 with the HTC One.

The HTC flagship is among the few devices in the market today which boasts of front facing stereo speakers with Beats Audio optimization, so it was only a matter of time before the two smartphones were compared.

Both smartphones are shown playing the same music track to properly assess which one is doing better. While it’s hard to conclude which one came out on top, it seems like the speakers on the HTC One sounded a touch better, although it was bit tinny at times.

Of course, this comparison was done in the halls of the event location, so it’s really hard to judge which one is actually better. But considering that the Xperia Z2 comes with features water resistance and better hardware, the speaker might not take a lot of the attention. With the HTC One refresh coming next month, we expect to get a much clearer picture of where the stereo speakers on the Xperia Z2 stand in terms of performance.
