LG G Pad 8.3 Launching Exclusively Via Verizon Wireless On March 6
A recent leak suggested that the LG G Pad 8.3 would soon make its way to Verizon Wireless in the U.S. Today, there’s official confirmation on that coming straight from the carrier. This LG tablet will reportedly hit America’s largest carrier as an exclusive, with sales expected to commence on the 6th of March.
The tablet is already available from a variety of retailers off contract and unlocked, including the Google Play Store where a stock Android version of the tablet is being sold. So we’re not sure if this carrier exclusivity will be taken very seriously as the tablet is available pretty much everywhere in the U.S.
However, if you’re looking to get a tablet on contract with support for Verizon’s 4G LTE networks, this is possibly your best bet. The carrier will reportedly offer the tablet at a discounted price of $99.99 with a two year contract until March 10 as an introductory offer. Beyond that, customers will have to shell out $199.99. Verizon will charge $299.99 off contract, which is lesser than the tablet’s original asking price of $350 but still more compared to the recent deals on the device.
Hardware wise, the tablet is pretty much the same as the standard G Pad 8.3, but with some Verizon logos on the back. The tablet comes with an 8.3 inch 1920 x 1200 resolution display, a 5 megapixel camera on the back, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The tablet runs on the quad core Snapdragon 600 SoC and features 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot.
