Pantech Vega Iron 2 Could Feature A Snapdragon 805 Chipset [Leak]
In what appears to be an unexpected revelation, the Pantech Vega Iron 2 could be the world’s first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 mobile SoC. The handset has just leaked out along with the rest of its hardware details, revealing a pretty high end device.
For those unaware, Pantech is a Korean manufacturer with very little presence outside its home turf, but things could be different with the new Vega Iron 2. The smartphone has leaked out in a total of four models with one of them expected to be a global unlocked variant.
The hardware sheet reveals that the smartphone will feature a 5.5 inch 1080p display, a 13 megapixel camera sensor with a 3 megapixel front camera and 2GB of RAM. It is also expected to feature a 2,800 mAh battery, 32 or 64GB of storage variants and support for LTE-A networks.
Pantech had some presence in the U.S. some years ago, but it has cut down its business to focus solely on the Korean market. But with a smartphone like this, the manufacturer could certainly get widespread global appeal, if it is able to figure out the logistics and other challenges that lie ahead.
