T-Mobile CFO Hints That A Merger With Sprint Is Imminent
Speaking at a conference recently, the CFO of T-Mobile, Braxton Carter has thrown light on the ongoing talks of the carrier being acquired by Sprint. According to him, it is most likely going to happen, but he wasn’t sure when. This comes after talks of regulatory authorities such as the FCC cried foul over the proposed merger between the third and fourth largest carrier in the U.S.
Carter said “It is not a question of if, it is a question of when” speaking about the future of this proposed merger. He further added – “To take a third-scale national player that has the scale benefits with the right business model could be very competitively enhancing in the U.S.”
In the midst of all this, the CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere is going about his business of bashing the competitors, as he did against Sprint last week. So even though there is talk of a merger going through, it’s still quite a distance away. Sprint has denied making a bid yet and will most likely ensure that there are no hurdles to face from FCC before doing so.
