Hardware Of The Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom Revealed Yet Again [Leak]
It is customary for Samsung to launch several variants of one smartphone to make an impact on a wide range of customers. The company has followed this trend with the Galaxy S III Zoom from 2012 followed by the Galaxy S4 Zoom last year. We came across the specs of the Galaxy S5 Zoom as well a couple of weeks ago, thanks to a benchmark listing of the device. Today, we have more confirmation on the hardware which has come in a slightly unconventional manner.
This leak comes from text written on a piece of paper, which was reportedly noted down during an internal Samsung presentation in Poland. Now we’re not sure how trustworthy this leak is, but considering that it matches most of what we heard from earlier this month, it’s fair to assume that this is the real deal.
The leak reaffirms the existence of a 4.8 inch 720p Super AMOLED display and a 20-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization or OIS. The processor on board is believed to be a 1.6 GHz quad core unit, while the benchmark leak suggested a ‘hexa-core’ chipset, so take this bit with a pinch of salt. Other details include 2GB of RAM, a Xenon flash for the camera as well as Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
It is expected that the Galaxy S5 Zoom will break cover sometime in May, although there’s no confirmation of that as of yet. We’re learning something new about this device as the days go by, so we’re hoping to gather more information in the coming weeks.
