Sony Xperia T2 Ultra For T-Mobile Gets FCC Certification
Sony devices traditionally launch exclusively via T-Mobile in the U.S. And we recently saw the Xperia T2 Ultra carrying T-Mobile’s bands making its way to the FCC. This smartphone with the model number D5316 has now been cleared by the authorities and could be launching soon.
For those unaware, the Xperia T2 Ultra is Sony’s midrange phablet with support for LTE networks. So expect a budget friendly price tag when it inevitably breaks cover through America’s fourth largest carrier in the coming weeks.
The handset sports a 6 inch 720p IPS display, a quad core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset and a 13-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capabilities.
Other features include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion options via microSD, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a 3,000 mAh battery.
The handset spotted in the FCC listing is the single SIM variant with support for LTE and there’s no word on the dual-SIM model as of yet.
With phablet options currently limited from global manufacturers, Sony’s new offering will fit in nicely with midrange customers in the U.S.
