Samsung Galaxy S5 Gets The Teardown Treatment As Well
Just a couple of days ago, the folks over at iFixit did a complete strip down of the new HTC One (M8) revealing all its internals and mentioning that the handset is extremely difficult to repair. Now, a Russian website has managed to disassemble the One’s (M8) chief competitor — the Galaxy S5 — revealing all its internal in their full glory.
As it turns out, the Galaxy S5 is also tougher to disassemble and repair than its predecessors. Samsung is using a special adhesive on the S5’s display to keep it attached to the main body. Since the S5 is water and dust resistant (IP67 certified), Samsung has made sure that the internals of the phone are properly sealed so that it does get damaged due to water seeping in.
Once the displayed was removed, the whole process was pretty straightforward and did not really reveal any new surprises. If you are interested in the full teardown images, head over to this link.
