HTC announced its latest flagship smartphone, the One (M8) in the United States last Tuesday, March 25, and went on sale at several major operators soon after the official press conference. Although the manufacturer showed off a bunch of new accessories including the new Dot View case during the press-only event, customers were disappointed when they headed down to their local electronics store, only to find that they had not yet been released.

Fortunately, HTC has today announced that the Dot View case for the One (M8) is now available to purchase from both its online store and from several independent retailers spread across the United States. The case is currently on sale for $49.99 which seems a little steep and is only available in the Warm Black colorway for now, so if you’re hoping to get your hands on one of the 5 other colors, you’ll have to wait a little while longer.

The Dot View case is definitely unlike any other case we’ve seen before, not only does it protect your device at the front, back and sides, but brings a ton of added functionality at the same time, too. Users have the facility to swipe and tap on the case to view information such as the current time and weather, or initiate some simple hand gestures to browse through their notifications.
