Samsung’s Latest Celebrity Signing Poses For A Selfie With Barack Obama
Samsung has just made a major celebrity signing in the form of Boston Red Sox star David Ortiz. Expectedly, the MLB star made full use of this as he posed for a selfie using his Galaxy Note 3 with the U.S. President Barack Obama only a day after he closed the deal with Samsung. The Korean manufacturer signed a similar deal with TV star Ellen DeGeneres who was part of the ‘most retweeted photo ever’ at the recently held Academy Awards function.
Samsung spends a lot of money on marketing and has previously signed NBA star LeBron James as the company’s ambassador. Knowing that these celebrities have a wide reach across the country and even worldwide, it’s understandable that the manufacturer would take this route. There’s no word on the value of the deal signed by Ortiz to promote Samsung products.
What an honor! Thanks for the #selfie, @BarackObama pic.twitter.com/y5Ww74sEID

Samsung is believed to have spent over $11.5 billion for marketing its devices in 2013 alone, speaking volumes about how seriously the company takes marketing. With the Galaxy S5 set to take the markets by storm next week, expect more such marketing to follow from the Korean giant.
