Verizon Planning To Light Up Its 200th 4G LTE Market Tomorrow
There’s no denying the fact that Verizon leads the charge in 4G LTE expansion. In fact, come this time tomorrow, over 200 markets will be blanketed in the lightning fast speeds of Verizon LTE. To put things in perspective, AT&T, who recently announced twelve new markets, covers a total of 28 markets. With the majority of devices now being manufactured to take advantage of LTE (including the new iPad) this huge gap in market coverage could very well push a large number of users over to Big Red’s network.
On March 15, Verizon will light up seven new markets as well as expand its LTE service across 17 markets. New and expanding markets include:
-
New Markets
- Dothan and Enterprise, Ala.
- Naples, Fla.
- Greenville, N.C.
- Altus and Durant, Okla.
- Longview/Marshall, Texas.
- Washington, D.C.
- Elkhart, Ind.
- Baltimore, Md.
- Columbus, Miss.
- Northern N.J.
- Wilmington, N.C.
- Duncan, Okla.
- Allentown/Bethlehem, Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Scranton/Wilkes Barre, Pa.
- Hilton Head, S.C.
- Cleveland, Tenn.
- Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas
- Kenosha, Madison and Milwaukee, Wis.
Expanding Markets
Verizon isn’t letting their ginormous lead slow them down either. They have vowed to double that number to over 400 markets covered by the end of the year. While most carriers will eventually catch up, those wanting to drive in the fast lane will most likely have to take the Verizon highway.
