Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet Gets Root And A Custom Recovery
We recently saw the Sony Xperia Z2 getting root access even before it hit the markets. And now, its bigger sibling the Xperia Z2 Tablet has received similar treatment along with a ClockworkMod based custom recovery being flashed onto the tablet.
This emphasizes the point that the Xperia Z2 Tablet offers the same amount of customization and developer friendly tools as its predecessors. ClockworkMod recovery is one of the most popular custom recoveries available out there, so it’s good to know that the tablet will support it from the get go.
The tablet will need an unlocked bootloader to be able to flash custom recoveries, which is something Sony offers on its own. But since this is a new device, it’s not on the company’s official support list yet.
It is said that this method only works with the WiFi variants of the tablet, but there will inevitably be a workaround for the cellular model as well.
So if you’re getting an Xperia Z2 Tablet soon, you don’t have anything to worry about as far as flashing custom recoveries or ROMs are concerned.
