The handset, pictured here, is heavily branded with OnePlus’ “Never Settle” motto, so this image could have been obtained from some form of advertisement the new company was working on to promote its first Android smartphone.

Recent rumors and leaked design sketches suggested that the OnePlus One was set to be constructed from a single sheet of aluminum, creating a very smooth yet durable casing that would look elegant and be protective. However, this latest leak indicates otherwise: The device looks to be vacuum formed from a sheet of plastic and anodized in an extremely bright shade of red.

OnePlus’ flagship phone has been the center of attention in the Android world for a while now, thanks to high-end specs, competitive pricing and a savvy marketing campaign. The One is scheduled to be unveiled at an April 23 press conference, so we don’t have long to wait before we see the real deal.

With regards to internals, the smartphone is set to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p capacitive touchscreen, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset powered by four 2.45-GHz CPUs, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with a Sony Exynos sensor and a nonremovable 3,100 mAh battery. Those are pretty impressive specs for a handset that’s believed to retail for less than $400.

In addition, the One is said to be the first device to run a unique version of CyanogenMod, dubbed “CyanogenMod 11S.” A couple of leaked screenshots, submitted by a “reliable tipster,” were published by Engadget last month. The images show an extremely clean, user-friendly lock screen.
