LG G3 looks incredible in its latest leaked press shots
Time to upgrade your smartphone? You may want to hold onto your cash. At the end of the month, LG will unveil its new G3, and according to these leaked press shots, it’s going to be an absolute stunner. In fact, I’d even go as far as to say that its almost bezel-less design could give the HTC One M8 a run for its money.
We’ve seen plenty of images of the LG G3 in recent weeks — some of which were press shots or mockups while others have been hands-on photos taken by those who already have a G3 in their possession. But these images obtained by PhoneArena are the best yet.
They show the G3 in gold, titan grey, and silver, which are the three color options we expect to see when the handset makes its debut this month. They also seem to be the most popular color options with recent smartphones, mostly thanks to Apple’s iPhone 5s, which has encouraged lots of phone makers to make gold devices.
These images also give us our clearest look yet at the front of the device and its redesigned rear-facing buttons. We expect the G3 to be made out of plastic, just like its predecessor, but a new textured finish on its backplate will replace the slimy shiny finish of the G2, which was a fingerprint magnet.
Despite its lack of aluminum, the G3 could quite easily compete with the One M8 when it comes to handset design. Like its predecessor, it has an incredibly narrow bezel around its display, giving it an almost edge-to-edge screen. Even the bottom bezel that houses the LG logo is significantly smaller than the M8’s.
The G3 could also have the edge with specifications. Recent rumors have claimed it will get the latest Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 2K display with a 1440×2560 resolution, and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization.
LG will announce the G3 on May 27 at an even in London, and it should go on sale soon after.
