Wednesday’s Must Have Game: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Today’s selection for our weekly Wednesday’s Must Have Game column is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which originally launched for the PlayStation 2 back in October, 2004, and was digitally remastered and uploaded to the Google Play Store for use on Android-powered smartphones and tablets in December, 2013.
In this game, you play the part of Carl Johnson, a gangster who escaped the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas — a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Unfortunately, whilst Carl was away exploring the world, ‘living the high life’, his mother was murdered, his family had fallen apart and the majority of his childhood friends found themselves living a life of crime. As a result, Johnson decides to return to his neighbourhood in Los Santos.
You play the part of Carl Johnson, a gangster who escaped the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas.
When he arrives, two unscrupulous cops frame him for a homicide. Johnson is then forced on a journey that takes him across the entire fictional state of San Andreas, to save his family and take control of the streets. That’s where you, the player, come in.
Your role is to take on the persona of Carl Johnson in this third-party action game, roam the streets and complete all 70 hours of high-resolution gameplay the title throws your way. On your journey, you will find yourself boosting cars, robbing stores and assassinating targets in an effort to make some petty cash and stay alive.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a paid game and is available to purchase directly from the Play Store for $6.99. That’s a lot to pay for a mobile game — on Android, but in this case, I feel that it’s worth it.
