Thursday’s Top Accessory: Google’s Nexus Wireless Charger

Nexus-Wireless-Charger-2

Every Thursday we write about a particular accessory we’ve been using over the course the past week and today we’re focusing our attention on Google’s second-generation universal Wireless Charger, which hit the stores alongside the search engine giant’s revamped edition of the Nexus 7 back in 2013.

This charger is perfect if you want to cut back on the amount of cords and plugs you use in your day-to-day life. The device packs a fully-functioning Qi wireless charging mechanism and measures just 60 x 60 mm — so it fits neatly on any desk, bedside table or countertop. All you have to do is plug it in and place your handset on the top to charge it up. The unit also has a sticky base that “adheres securely to any surface.”

In the box you’ll find a 9W 1.8A AC adaptor, a micro USB cable, a quick start guide, and of course a warranty. Pricing and shipping costs vary across different markets. In the U.S. the charger retails at $49.99, so we expect it to be listed for around 3,078 Rupees in India, A$55 in Australia, 5,218 Yen in Japan and 6,553 Won in Korea.
