Free smartphones are on the menu at Burger King
You can now get your next smartphone for free along with a bacon Whopper and fries thanks to a surprising new promotion from Burger King. The fast food chain is making a bunch of Android-powered devices free when you take out a new two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon.
The Moto X, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, HTC One M7, LG G2, and the Motorola Droid Mini are available — as well as other midrange handsets from a number of different manufacturers. The devices usually cost between $50 and $150 upfront if you buy them directly from a carrier.
All you need to do to claim your device is visit bk.com/android and enter the promo code “FREEPHONE” at checkout. You’ll need to take out a new two-year contract to claim the device, and once you’ve received it, you’ll be encouraged to download a free Burger King app that delivers daily coupons and other special offers.
The promotion is also available at Burger King stores nationwide, and according to Burger King director of revenue management and pricing Samuel Heath, the company has enough devices to let it run for several weeks.
“We wanted to make sure we took care of all the people who come to Burger King,” Heath told Mashable. “You forget sometimes that only half the people have ”
Burger King doesn’t say when the promotion will end, but once the handsets are gone, they’re gone.
