While we have heard quite a bit about the upcoming Nexus 9 tablet from HTC and Google, details about the next Nexus handset have been pretty scarce. The only confirmed piece of news about the handset is that it is codenamed shamu internally.

Besides the above information, we only have rumors suggesting that the shamu will come with a 5.9-inch screen and will be made by Motorola. Today, the folks over at 9to5Google have received confirmation from their sources that the Nexus 6 will indeed come with a massive 5.92-inches display. The source also suggests that the new next Nexus will just be a bigger variant of the 2nd-gen Moto X with only some minor design tweaks including a re-positioned volume and power buttons to better aid usability.

On the specs front, 9to5Google sources suggest that the phablet will come with a Quad HD display giving it a pixel density of 498PPI. Other specs include a Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM, Adreno 420 GPU and 32GB of internal storage. Apparently, the device is also going to come with a 13MP shooter at the back and a 3200mAh battery.

Adding further information to 9To5Google report are the folks from Android Police, who state that the device will come with a fingerprint sensor and wireless charging capabilities as well.

It also looks very likely that Google will not be releasing another smaller variant of the Nexus handset this time with a much more usable and modest 5-inch size screen — which is going to be a big bummer for many.
