Nexus size comparison proves just how gigantic Google’s new phone really is
Some have suggested that Google has ruined the Nexus smartphone by equipping its latest model with a giant 5.9-inch display, and based on these size comparison images, it’s not difficult to understand that argument.
The vast majority aren’t interested in super-sized smartphones, and that’s exactly what the Nexus 6 is. It’s bigger than the LG G3, it’s bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note — all of them — and it’s bigger than the new Moto X. In comparison with previous Nexus smartphones, it’s a beast.
But it’s difficult to appreciate the handset’s size if you’ve only seen pictures of it — on its own — on the Internet. However, these images made up by PhoneArena do an excellent job of demonstrating just how gigantic it is by comparing it to its predecessors.
When they first made their debuts, both the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 were considered fairly large devices; not quite “phablets,” but larger phones. But the new Nexus 6 is 0.84 inches taller than the Nexus 5, and more than half an inch wider. It’s also noticeably thicker — even thicker than the HTC One M8 — so it has ballooned on all fronts.
How do you feel about the Nexus 6’s size? Does it ruin the appeal or the Nexus family for you, or are you one of the growing number of smartphone users who believes bigger is better?
