Motorola squashes bugs with Android 5.0.2 for new Moto G
If you have a second-generation Moto G, prepare yourself for Google’s latest Android software. Motorola is currently in the process of rolling out Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to select devices, and it’s going to fix a whole bunch of problems that have been plaguing new Moto G handsets since Lollipop’s initial release.
Motorola was one of the first third-party manufacturers to bring Lollipop to its smartphones, but like all major upgrades, it had some teething troubles — the worst of which was a massive memory leak that had all kinds of nasty effects on performance. With low-memory devices like the Moto G, it was particularly frustrating.
But with Android 5.0.2, Motorola is crushing a lot of Lollipop’s initial bugs and delivering a smoother, more stable user experience. If you’ve been ruing the day you ever upgraded your device to Android 5.0, this will cure your headache and allow you to enjoy Lollipop the way Google hoped you would.
But calm yourself down for just a minute. Like all Motorola software updates, this is only reaching a small number of devices right now, but providing there are no new issues in this release, most users should see it within the next week or so. Keep an eye on the software update section inside of the Settings app.
