Amazon Prime will be just $72 tomorrow
At $99 a year, Amazon Prime is a killer deal — especially if you do a lot of online shopping. But it’s going to get even better tomorrow, January 24, when you’ll be able to bag a one-year subscription for just $72 — more than 25% off — to celebrate the Golden Globe Awards.
With Prime, Amazon customers get free 2-day shipping on more than 20 million items, unlimited access to movies and TV shows through Prime Instant Video, unlimited access to millions of songs and albums through Prime Music, over 500,000 free ebooks, and more. All for just $99 a year.
But if you’re a new customers who hasn’t subscribed to Prime before, you can save yourself $18 by treating yourself to a membership tomorrow. What’s more, Amazon is allowing anyone — even those without Prime — to watch its award-winning original series Transparent for free for 24 hours.
“Amazon today announced that in celebration of two recent Golden Globe wins, it will make all ten episodes of Amazon Original Series Transparent available for free for everyone this Saturday,” the retail giant said in its announcement. “Also on Saturday and in celebration of the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, Amazon Prime will be available for just $72—a more than 25 percent savings.”
I’ve been a Prime subscriber for a number of years now, and I’m happy to keep throwing Amazon $99 a year for the service. Living in the U.K., I get free one-day shipping on millions of popular products — no matter how big they are or how little I spend — plus unlimited access to as many TV shows and movies as I can watch.
It’s a terrific deal, and I wouldn’t be without it now. If you were already planning to take advantage of Prime, then this is a great incentive to do so this Saturday.
