HTC One M7 Unlocked and Developer Editions get Android 5.0 Lollipop
HTC has already brought Android 5.0 Lollipop to One M7 handsets on Sprint, and now models that aren’t shackled to a carrier are getting a taste of the sweet stuff.
The Taiwanese company has confirmed that the software, which also makes improvements to HTC’s own Sense user interface, is now reaching Unlocked and Developer Edition devices over-the-air.
Traditionally, Unlocked and Developer Edition devices get the latest software first because they do not require carrier approval, but in this case, HTC has made users wait. But at least the delay didn’t last long; One M7 owners on AT&T and T-Mobile are still waiting for their Lollipop upgrade.
In addition to features like Smart Lock, lock screen notifications, and improvements to multitasking, this build also makes various changes to the Sense 6 user interface. Users will also notice significant enhancements to performance and battery life.
If you have a One M7 Unlocked or Developer Edition device, and you haven’t already received your update notification, you can search for it manually from within the software update section inside the Settings app.
