Hulu Plus for Android Updated, Adds Additional Tablet Support And An Improved UI
Hulu Plus for Android received a slight update today, adding support for seven Android tablets and a new sleek UI. The new UI is specifically designed for tablets and allows users to swipe horizontal lists to view movies and TV shows. The seven tablets included in this update are:
- Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime
- Asus Eee Pad Transformer
- Motorola Xoom
- Motorola XYBoard 10.1
- Toshiba Thrive
- Acer Iconia
- LG G-Slate
The Hulu Plus app is available for free, though it only works with Hulu’s $7.99 a month Hulu Plus package. It does contain ads, but allows you to watch full seasons of popular television shows and many movies.
The new horizontal slider that is included in the updated UI allows you to sort through clips that you’ve already watched, have been featured by the Hulu staff, recommended by your past viewed videos, and popular clips. There’s also new, large icons that are said to look great on tablets.
In the company’s announcement, Hulu said it will continue working to add more tablets to the mix. Why it didn’t offer the popular Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the first batch of tablets doesn’t make much sense.
You can download the updated Hulu Plus for Android update from the Google Play Store.
